Dr. Abercrombie's journey from the computer screens of software engineering at Delta Airlines to the hands-on world of veterinary medicine is a tale of passion rediscovered. After growing up in Macon, GA, and spending two decades in Atlanta, her move to Tampa in 2012 marked a new chapter. With a Bachelor's in industrial engineering from Georgia Tech and inspired by her father's medical career, she sought a path that combined her love for science with a desire for more human (and animal) interaction.
Veterinary school called to her, leading to a DVM degree from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Today, she thrives in her role, finding deep fulfillment in surgery, treating hypothyroid dogs, and especially in the joy of teaching—whether it's mentoring her team, guiding new vets, or helping pet owners make informed decisions.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Abercrombie's life is just as rich and full. She and her husband, Bill, along with their children, Sara Beth and William, form an energetic, sport-loving family that enjoys traveling and embracing every adventure together. Their home is a lively blend of human and animal companionship, shared with dogs Walter and Meg, and cats Graham, Luna, and Flynn. A typical weekend might find her walking along Bayshore Boulevard with her dogs, surrounded by the natural beauty that makes Tampa so special to her.
